Frequently asked questions
Questions deserve straight answers.
Start with the question that is holding you back. We explain what may be possible, what depends on your circumstances, and what still needs to be checked.
Starting point.
You do not need a finished plan before the first conversation.
Who does AllCampus UK advise?
We advise anyone building a UK university route — no exclusions — primarily adults in Britain considering university around work, family, previous education or a change of direction. Conversations are available in English or Romanian, simply as a language option. We first understand your circumstances, then explain which realistic routes may be worth checking.
Am I too old to go to university?
There is no single age at which university stops being an option. Adults return to education at many stages of life. What matters is whether a suitable route exists and whether its entry requirements, attendance, study time and funding position work for your circumstances.
Can I speak with someone before I know which course I want?
Yes. The first conversation is designed for people who are still uncertain. We can begin with your work, previous education, interests, location and practical limits before discussing a particular course.
Can we speak in Romanian?
Yes. AllCampus UK offers guidance in Romanian and English. Official course, university and Student Finance terms remain in their correct UK form, but the conversation can take place in the language in which you can explain your situation most clearly.
Entry and routes.
Previous education is context to understand, not a label to apply.
Can I go to university without A-levels?
Possibly. Depending on the course and provider, routes may include a foundation year, Access to Higher Education, a Higher National qualification, relevant experience or another accepted entry route. We check the current requirements for the route under discussion rather than assuming one answer fits everyone.
What if I studied outside the UK?
Overseas qualifications can be relevant, including qualifications such as the Bacalaureat or Matura. The provider decides what it accepts and may request evidence, translations or an equivalency check. We help you identify what needs to be checked and organise the information required.
What if I am not confident in my English?
Tell us honestly at the start. English requirements depend on the provider and course, and some routes include an interview or an assessment. We can explain what the route requires, but the provider makes the final entry decision.
Do you only help students in Derby?
No. Our operating office is in central Derby and meetings are available by appointment, while conversations can also take place remotely. Course availability varies by provider, location, format and intake, so we check what is current for the area you are considering.
Funding and cost.
Funding questions need current rules and personal facts, not assumptions.
Can you tell me whether I will receive Student Finance?
We can explain Student Finance England terminology, the application process and which circumstances usually need checking. We cannot approve funding or guarantee eligibility. Student Finance England makes its own decision under the rules that apply to your start date and personal circumstances.
What are the tuition fee loan and maintenance loan?
They are two different forms of student support used in England. A tuition fee loan is paid towards eligible tuition fees, while a maintenance loan may help with living costs. Availability and amounts depend on current rules and personal circumstances, so we direct you to the relevant official information rather than quoting a figure that may not apply to you.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. The first conversation with AllCampus UK is free and gives us a chance to understand your situation. There is no obligation to apply. If a later action involves a third-party cost, requirement or commitment, it should be clear before you decide to proceed.
Application.
We support the steps the chosen route actually requires.
What application support do you provide?
We help organise the required information and genuine documents, work through the application in order and explain the next action. If the provider requires an interview or assessment, we explain what to expect. The exact tasks depend on the course route and provider.
Will I need a personal statement?
Not necessarily. The course routes we currently support do not all require a personal statement. We only ask you to prepare the information that the chosen provider and route actually require, and we confirm those requirements before submission.
Can AllCampus UK guarantee admission or enrolment?
No. We can provide guidance and application support, but the provider decides admission and enrolment under its current requirements. We will not describe an uncertain outcome as guaranteed.
How long does the process take?
There is no reliable single timeframe. It depends on how quickly the required information is available, provider response times, the intake, any interview or assessment, and funding steps. We keep the next action visible and tell you when progress depends on another organisation.
AllCampus UK and UniStart.
Human guidance and digital continuity serve different moments in one journey.
What is the difference between AllCampus UK and UniStart?
AllCampus UK Limited is the UK student-recruitment and advisory agency. UniStart is the free student-guidance app created by AllCampus UK. You can speak with a human advisor when your circumstances need context and use UniStart to explore courses or revisit useful information between conversations.
Do I have to download UniStart to speak with an advisor?
No. You can contact AllCampus UK directly. UniStart is an additional way to begin privately, browse current course information and keep the journey visible; it does not replace a conversation when your circumstances need a human answer.
Where should I look for courses?
UniStart is the course-discovery experience. AllCampus UK does not duplicate the full course catalogue on this corporate website. After you identify an option, an advisor can help you understand the practical fit and the application steps that apply.
Eligibility, funding, course availability and entry requirements depend on your circumstances, the provider, intake and current Student Finance England rules. AllCampus UK provides guidance and application support but cannot guarantee admission, funding or employment.
Your circumstances are specific
The useful answer may begin with a conversation.
Tell us what you know. You do not need a polished plan, a complete document pack or certainty about the right course.
